Fundraising

The Fundraising Team (previously the Parents and Friends/P&F) of the group organise social activities within the group to promote interaction between the scouters, parents, friends of the group and the wider community within Worcester Park.

As parents we are also required to raise around £10,000 each year to contribute towards the running costs of the headquarters and to provide improved facilities for our children. To achieve this many of the events are also designed to raise funds for the group.

Who can join?

As a parent you are automatically a member. Non-parents are also welcome to get involved. The committee of the Fundraising Team meet up on a monthly basis (except August). If you would like to become more involved in this part of the Group please contact Valerie – the Group Scout Leader

What can I do?

When children join the group their parents are required to pay subscriptions and assist in raising the additional funds necessary via fund-raising activities. As parents it is difficult trying to balance the demands on our time from our work and home. If each parent ensures they assist in the organisation or running of at least one event each year we will achieve our financial target without too much demand on any individual.

Any questions?

If you have any questions about the our events or would like to get more involved with our fundraising activity, please speak to one of the section leaders or attend a FRT meeting – details on the calendar or contact us

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
