Be part of something that makes a difference
Behind every meeting, activity, camp and adventure at 4th Worcester Park is a team of dedicated volunteers.
Scouting is powered by people who give their time, skills and enthusiasm to help young people have fun, learn new skills, build confidence and experience adventures they will remember for years to come.
You don’t need to have been a Scout yourself, and you don’t need to be an expert in camping, climbing or outdoor activities. What matters most is that you want to make a difference and are willing to get involved.
Being a volunteer doesn’t mean that you have to commit to every week or take on a leadership role.
There are many different ways you can support the Group, depending on your interests, skills and the amount of time you have available.
You could:
There really is no one-size-fits-all way to volunteer.
Volunteering with 4th Worcester Park isn’t just about what you give — it’s also about what you get back.
You can learn new skills, meet new people, gain experience, develop leadership and organisational skills, and take part in activities and adventures that you might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience.
Most importantly, you get to see young people grow in confidence, overcome challenges, learn new skills and achieve things they didn’t think were possible.
For many of our volunteers, that’s the most rewarding part of being involved.
You don’t need to know everything before you start.
Our volunteers work as a team, and you’ll receive support and guidance as you learn. Where appropriate, Scouting also provides training to help you develop the skills and knowledge you need for your role.
Whether you’ve been involved in Scouting for years or have never set foot in a Scout meeting before, there’s a place for you at 4th Worcester Park.
We understand that modern life is busy. Not everyone can commit to volunteering every week, and that’s okay.
You might be able to give a few hours each month, help with an occasional camp, lend a hand at an event or use your skills to help behind the scenes.
Even an hour a month can make a difference.
Every bit of help allows us to give more young people the opportunity to experience everything that Scouting has to offer.
4th Worcester Park has a proud history built by generations of volunteers, and our future depends on people who are willing to get involved.
Whether you want to work directly with young people, help behind the scenes, share a skill or simply lend a hand when you can, we’d love to hear from you.
Come and be part of the team.
Give a little time. Make a big difference. Create adventures that last a lifetime.
