Ages 10½–14
Scouts take their Scouting adventure to the next level, with more opportunities to challenge themselves, build confidence and develop their independence.
The Scout programme is packed with exciting activities and adventures, both indoors and outdoors. Scouts can take part in expeditions, camping, caving, water sports and a wide range of other activities that encourage them to try new things and push themselves beyond their comfort zone.
Along the way, Scouts learn practical skills that they can use both in Scouting and everyday life. They can learn how to cook over an open fire, read maps and navigate, plan expeditions, solve problems and work effectively as part of a team.
Scouts are also encouraged to take on responsibility and develop their leadership skills. Whether helping others, taking responsibility within their Patrol or planning an activity, they have opportunities to become more independent and confident in their abilities.
A Scout section is called a Troop, and within each Troop, Scouts are divided into smaller groups called Patrols. Patrols encourage Scouts to work together, support one another and share responsibility.
At 4th Worcester Park, we have two Scout Troops:
Each Troop provides a varied programme of activities, challenges and adventures designed to help Scouts grow in confidence, develop valuable life skills and discover what they are capable of.
Big adventures. New challenges. Skills for life.
